Our Dental Implant Surgical Team"
At the Leigh Smile Center we are dedicated to providing the
highest quality care for the Placement and
Restoration of Dental Implants. Dr. Leigh's practice is limited to
Full-time Implant Placement, Restoration, associated Bone Grafting,
related care, and Teaching. His Dental Surgical Team includes three
highly trained, highly skilled Dental Assistants ... Delia,
Michelle, and Anita ... with almost 50 combined years of Dental
Assisting experience. They have spent thousands of hours assisting
in dental implant procedures, and analyzing CBCT Scans. At the Leigh
Smile Center, Dr. Leigh performs both the Placing phase (inserting
the implant into the bone) and the Restoration phase (attaching the
abutment and the crown) of Dental Implants; or, in the case of
implant dentures, attaching the bar, or framework, that will support
or stabilize the dentures.
All of the
Dental Surgical Team Assistants at the Leigh Smile Center are
Registered Dental Assistants (RDA Level II), and
are members of the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries
and Practice Management (an affiliate of the International Congress
of Oral Implantologists). They have been involved in
hundreds of various dental implant procedures, from single and
multiple implants to sinus lifts and bone grafting. This knowledge
and background experience allows the Surgical Team to perform
seamlessly in procedures that can, at times, become stressful for
the Dental Practitioner.
Not only do the Team members assist
in the implant surgical procedures, they also perform duties that
allow the Dr. Leigh the time to plan Implant cases.
The Surgical Team is involved in preliminary consultations with
potential patients, doing transfer impressions and initial try-ins,
sourcing and ordering implant parts, maintaining surgical procedure
documentation and digital photography of each phase of surgery,
preparing the surgical suite, evaluating CBCT Scans for anomalies,
and providing outstanding, and friendly
patient care. Without this 'Team'
approach, it would be very difficult for a Dental Practitioner to
perform implant surgeries with confidence and predictable results.
